Pedro is pleased to collaborate with World Vision – Singapore for the second year in a row, to help the beneficiaries of World Vision's ONE LIFE FUND; an educational bursary scheme established on World Aids Day in 2008. The fund is in view of the children and youth in Singapore who are either infected with HIV/AIDS, or who have one or both parents who are HIV-positive. At the same time, the PEDRO FIGHTS AIDS campaign has been extended to the Malaysian, Philippine and the Vietnamese territories.

Proceeds from the sales of the shoes for both men and women were created with a dash of red to symbolize solidarity with HIV and the dangers and emergencies that go along with the infection. The 2010 campaign was a major success with shoes being sold out within a month of release. CSR initiatives are an imperative part of our business, and we are warmed and encouraged by the positive response from and support of our customers, proving the successful awareness gained with regards to the disease and cause.

HIV/AIDS takes a toll on not only ones well being, but also financially which leads to families not being able to afford to keep up with costs of education. The only problem is that Education is THE solution to extract these underprivileged children from poverty. All they need is a helping hand and a heart. Pedro is honoured to work with together in a collaboration with World Vision - Singapore, with the launch of the PEDRO FIGHTS AIDS campaign. The campaign is initiated with an objective to raise funds for underprivileged children under WORLD VISION'S ONE LIFE FUND, an educational bursary scheme that was established in 2008. The fund takes aim to benefit the children and youth in Singapore living with HIV/AIDS, or have one or both parents who are infected with the disease, resulting in financial difficulties for their children in receiving the proper level of education.

Pedro launched the Pedro Fights Aids campaign for the first time in 2009, contributing to the One Life Fund through sales of limited edition shoes specially designed to bear the symbolic red colour on its strap. The 2009 campaign was a major success, with the shoes being sold out within a month after the launch. CSR initiatives are an important part of our business, and we are encouraged by the great response and support from our customers, demonstrating aheightened awareness towards helping the underprivileged children affected by HIV/Aids.

HIV/AIDS is a deadly and financially strenuous disease; and education is the passport out of poverty and into a better life for these children. A benevolent helping hand and philanthropic contributions will deeply touch the hearts of these children and create positive, lasting transformation in their lives. This strengthens our resolve in supporting the One Life Fund, and we look forward to partnering World Vision in the years to come in achieving even better results and maximum fundraising potential.
