1st December 2011, Singapore – Ever since the first case was discovered in 1981, AIDS has taken a devastating toll worldwide. A total of 33 million people who are HIV-positive are living with this fatal disease with new cases discovered each year. World AIDS Day – 1st December has become one of the most meaningful days of observance since 1988. It is also a key opportunity for the various voices in the world to raise awareness of the dangers of this disease and how it affects innocent lives.

Now in its third year, Pedro is pleased to collaborate with World Vision – Singapore once again, with the launch of the PEDRO FIGHTS AIDS campaign. This movement aims to support the beneficiaries of the World Vision's ONE LIFE FUND; an education bursary scheme which was established in 2008. This fund has been supporting and benefiting the children and youth who are either infected with HIV/AIDS, or who have one or both parents who are HIV-positive. Once again, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam will be participating in the PEDRO FIGHTS AIDS campaign, and we are proud to announce that Cambodia and Indonesia are joining us this year in support of this significant movement.

To commemorate this meaningful campaign, Pedro is launching a pair of specially designed loafers for the men and ballet flats for the ladies. The loafers have been cleverly reinvented with a vivid red trimming to signify the dangers and emergencies of this deadly disease. Women will be spoilt for choice this year as Pedro introduces two pairs of classically designed ballet flats (available in red and white) adorned with a Fight Aids ribbon ornament for that feminine touch. On top of that, the PEDRO FIGHTS AIDS notebook (available in red and white) will be added to this exclusive collection to further stress on the importance of safe sex.

The exclusive PEDRO FIGHTS AIDS collection will be available at all Pedro stores nationwide in Singapore starting 1st December 2011. The loafers will be retailing for $99, ballet flats for $63 and the notebook will be sold at $10 each in-store. 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the beneficiaries of the World Vision's ONE LIFE FUND.

Make a difference today and join us in this campaign to create a better life for these underprivileged children. It may be difficult, but we strongly believe it will help us to make a positive change to this global epidemic with every single helping hand and kind contribution received.
